I grew up on a small family owned dairy farm in Manitowoc, WI. I graduated from UWSP in 2012 with a BS in Biology with a pre-veterinary intent. My favorite class I took there was a canine behavior psychology class. I graduated from Globe University in 2014 with my AAS in Veterinary Technology and have been working in both general practice and emergency veterinary medicine as a CVT since. I have a strong interest in canine behavior and making vet visits as stress free as possible.
I fell in love with the world of dog sports and training while living in GA when I started barn hunt with a Siberian Husky named Kappa in 2016. I was also told I would never be able to off-leash hike with a husky so we worked hard on training to prove everyone we could do it!
I then got an Australian Cattle Dog named Spur that I started competing in barn hunt, took frisbee and agility lessons with but never got the courage to compete in those.
With my Australian Shepherd Whinny, I have taken CCC, rally and obedience classes with. She was my first dog to love water so I started my dock diving career in 2017. She also loves hunting ratties when she’s done rolling in the hay.
My youngest Australian Cattle Dog Tric was my plan to try and compete in all the things until I found out he has bad knees. He has a strong herding instinct and loves to work cows. He loves learning new tricks and also enjoys hunting rats when no one is watching. We have taken several competition obedience and rally classes and are getting ready to start competing in both!
My focus is not always getting a new title with my dogs, but rather enjoying playing the games they love, the training that goes into learning a new sport and growing as a team.
